Architectural shape impact windows.
Arches, half-rounds, circles, trapezoids, transoms and gable-end glass — custom-templated at our family's factory so the details that give your home its character get the same hurricane protection as everything else.
Protect the details that make your house yours.
Walk any street in Coral Gables, Miami Shores or Coconut Grove and you'll see them: the arched window over the entry, the half-round above French doors, the round porthole on the stair landing, the raked glass following a gable roofline. Those openings are usually the last ones still unprotected — because big-box dealers only stock rectangles. We don't. Our family's V&V factory builds shaped impact units to a template we take from your actual opening, so the curve is your curve, not a close-enough approximation trimmed to fit.
The payoff goes beyond storm season. A shaped opening covered by plywood or an awkward shutter is a hole in your wind-mitigation story; converting it to laminated impact glass helps complete the envelope your insurance inspector wants to see. You also gain what every impact window delivers — a quieter interior, a serious barrier against break-ins, UV filtering that protects floors and furniture, and Low-E options that take real load off the A/C.

Architectural shape questions, answered.
Nearly any geometry your facade calls for: full and segmented arches, half-rounds, eyebrows, full circles, ovals, quarter-rounds, trapezoids, triangles, octagons, transoms and gable-end rakes. If the opening can be templated, the factory can build it in laminated impact glass.
Yes — that is most of what we do with shapes. We field-measure the opening, take a physical or digital template of the curve, and the factory fabricates to that exact radius, so a 1920s Mediterranean arch in Coral Gables or Miami Shores keeps its original lines with hurricane-rated glass inside.
Shaped units are fixed (non-opening), which actually makes them the strongest windows in the house — no sash, no moving seal. For ventilation we pair the shape with an operable unit below it, such as a casement or single-hung, in a matching frame finish.
Fully. The same laminated impact glass and heavy-wall frames used in our rectangular windows go into every shape, with Miami-Dade NOA approval for the high-velocity hurricane zone and design pressures engineered per opening — so the arch over your entry is no longer the weak point during a storm.
Every shape is priced from its exact template, so we start with a free on-site measurement. We inspect and template each opening, recommend glass options and quote the whole project. No obligation, and we respond within 24 hours.
